You bring the design or specification. Furniship engineers it for production, proves it in a physical sample, and manufactures it against that approved standard.

A programme can start from a complete tech pack or from very little — a CAD file, a dimensioned drawing, a reference product, a physical reference sample, or a sketch with a target price and a market to hit.

Furniship works from whatever level of definition exists. The starting point changes how long development takes — it does not decide whether a programme is possible.

CAD files & 3D models

STEP, IGES or native 3D. The fastest route into development, because construction can be interrogated directly.

Dimensioned drawings with construction detail and material callouts.

A written specification

Dimensions, materials, finishes, components and packaging requirements, without a drawing.

A reference product

An existing product in your range to re-engineer, improve or cost down.

A physical reference sample

Sent to the sample room and worked from directly, which resolves construction questions a drawing cannot.

Before production is released

Four things close before a production order is cut. Each exists because it is far cheaper to correct here than in a container.

    Sample approval

    A physical first-off assessed for fit, comfort, dimensional accuracy, finish and packability — then corrected and approved.

  2. 02

    Specification lock

    The approved sample becomes the written reference: materials, construction, tolerances and finish, recorded rather than remembered.

  3. 03

    Material & finish confirmation

    Fabric, timber, finish and component sources confirmed against the approved sample, so production is not quietly built from a substitute.

  4. 04

    Packaging sign-off

    Carton construction, protection, labelling and barcoding agreed before the first production carton is made.

The notes above are examples within each category. Format, dimensions, materials, construction and finish are developed around the requirements of the programme, subject to development, quotation and technical feasibility.

Quality control

Inspection is carried out in-line and before packing, against the approved sample and an agreed defect standard. The operational detail — inspection points, defect classes, reporting and corrective action — belongs on its own page rather than being repeated here.

Packaging & delivery

Cartons, protection, labelling and barcoding are engineered to your warehouse specification rather than to factory default. Orders are consolidated, loaded and shipped, with documentation issued.

What buyers ask before starting

What do you need in order to quote?
The design or specification, the destination market, the expected volume and the landed price you need to hit. If one of those is missing, we will tell you which decision has to come first.
Can you work from a physical sample rather than a drawing?
Yes. A reference sample can be sent to the sample room and worked from directly, which answers construction questions a drawing often leaves open.
What is the minimum order quantity?
MOQs are set around the product and programme rather than one fixed threshold. Factors such as construction, materials, specification and programme requirements can affect the appropriate order structure.
Who is responsible for quality?
Inspection is carried out against the approved sample and an agreed defect standard before goods are packed. Where commercial responsibility sits is agreed per programme.
